2011 Chevrolet Camaro Prices:

As noted, Mr. Lutz says that Camaros will cost somewhat more than comparable Ford Mustangs and Dodge Challengers, which currently go for between about $20,000 and $40,000. Keep in mind, though, that stickers on all these ponycars may well be going up due to inflationary pressures and fast-rising materials costs, especially for steel.

General Motors sent out a directive to dealers today announcing a one-month production delay for the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro. According to the message, the reason for the postponement (production is set to begin on Monday, March 16) is not due to any legal problems or the current issues faced by the General, and instead is a "result of GM's efforts to ensure the Camaro exceeds the highest quality benchmarks established by GM for a new product."

A forum member at Camaro5 who supposedly obtained the document is also saying that the Camaro convertible, reported as dead back in November, will go on sale as a 2011 model. Power figures for the bent-eight variants are listed in the directive at 400 hp for the L99 and 426 hp for the LS3, with all 10,000 pre-orders completed by October.

Is there a hotter automotive subject than the Chevy Camaro these days? Possibly the Volt, also a golden bowtie branded vehicle, but hot for entirely different reasons to an entirely different group of enthusiasts.
The Camaro is GM's better-late-than-never muscle car, and despite concerns it's hitting the market just when fuel prices threaten to do in the segment the same way gasoline shortages killed it back in the '70s, it's managing to brighten hopes in Detroit despite GM's overall slow sales.
The latest Camaro news is about standard and optional features. The highly anticipated car, due to arrive early next year as a 2010 model, will be available in five trim levels, starting with the base LS, and moving up through the ranks with the following designations, 1LT, 2LT, 1SS and 2SS.
